Declarations

The table below shows which types of AI contributions can be declared in Labelcamp and the expected outcome on each DSP, based on each platform’s own specifications and requirements.
For the time being, this article only covers the AI contributions to Apple and Spotify.

What can be declared

Spotify

A composition credit

vocal adaptation

Composition

Spotify does not distinguish composition and recording:
it's the same flag for all roles.

Track

And if all audio credits for the track are entirely generated, the detailed credits are replaced by a single role carried by a synth identity:
a generic AI persona provided by Spotify, named “GenerativeAI”.

A non-audio credit
photography, art direction, management, production video

NONE

Flag placed on the contributor.

Spotify does not filter by nature of role.

Levels of AI contribution

AI contributions can be declared on the following elements:
- roles,
- static or motion cover arts,
- music videos.

The four declaration levels of AI contribution available are:
- undeclared,
- none,
- partly,
- entirely.

What changes from one platform to another is the threshold at which it begins to consider that declaration:

Declarations with expected outcome
(“Has AI been used to generate this content?”)

none

No AI contribution.

partly

A portion of the element is AI-generated.
